This prayer booklet is very memorable to me. It was given to me by Kuya Ayie (Sem. Ariel Valencia that time, now Fr. Ariel) as some sort of a graduation gift. It’s been with me for more than a decade now. But if you’re gonna ask me how many times have I read or said the prayers that are written in this booklet…honestly, I would say “a few times in more than a decade.” Yeah, I just KEPT it!
Just a week ago, I was reading the “New Moon” which was lent to me by my boss. And while I was arranging and rearranging my things looking for a bookmark, presto! I found this prayer booklet with a bookmark! It was a bookmark commemorating the 10th Anniversary of the Diocese of Gumaca. And at the back of it Kuya Ayie put a short note which goes…

If you’ll be busy in so many things prioritize praying. You’ll see that it’s worth it.

After reading the message, I paused and told myself…Yes, Kuya Ayie is right. For quite some time…I’ve been busy with so many things. I was guilty of doing things my way without seeking God’s guidance. I came to a point where praying wasn’t my priority anymore. I was busy at work, with my friends, internet and a lot of stuff. It’s a good thing though, that God never stopped calling me…and I responded to His call. Now, I’m on the right track again. He gave me that particular person, so I would once again realize the importance, the value and the power of prayer. Now, I perfectly understand why he let me experience the pain brought about by betrayal. It’s not because He wanted to punish me, but because He loves me so much, that He made me realize that through prayer, I would be able to forgive and that I would learn to love, accept, understand and trust over and over again…that through prayer, nothing is impossible.
Now, I am not just KEEPING it! It’ll now continue to serve it’s purpose… c”,)
Lord, I know I can never thank you enough. But through my constant prayer…I hope I could bring back all the honor and glory to you. May you continue to watch over each and everyone of us and put us under the mantle of your protection.#CAL
