I woke up 4:00am to prepare for our Manaoag trip. Gracey and I agreed to meet in Ministop near Edsa Shrine at 5:00am. Unfortunately, I arrived late because the driver of the cab I was riding didn’t know where Edsa Shrine is, and while I was talking to Gracey telling her I’m almost there, I noticed that we’re already passing by the flyover! Grrrr….what a “pleasant misfortune” early in the morning! And to add to my misfortune, I forgot my jacket! Anyway, I finally arrived at our meeting place. The taxi fare was P125 but I only gave P100 to the driver. I was supposed to pay P80 by the way, I just gave him a bit of consideration. Good thing he didn’t complain, he knew it was his fault. Gracey and I met and took a cab going to Dagupan Bus Terminal. I was really “lucky” that day because I took a defective seat!
And I only noticed that it was defective when almost all of the seats were already occupied. It was detached from the seat frame (or whatever they call it) so it’s sliding forward everytime the driver hit the break! But we just laughed at it. There are a lot of good things to look forward to instead of focusing on my “pleasant misfortunes” hahaha!
We arrived in Manaoag at around 12:30pm, it took us about 5 hours to finally reach our destination. We had a simple
lunch at Gillian’s Restaurant, went to the church to pray, explored the place and took some photos.
Ah, there was a wedding that time and I told Gracey that while I was praying, I realized that someday, when the time finally comes that I will walk down the aisle wearing my dream wedding gown, I would want it to have a gold accent just like what the Our Lady of Manaog is wearing, because it’s really my dream to stay pure until the day that I will finally give my wedding vow in front of God and my loved ones.
I requested for a special mass intention before we left the church. The lady in charge of the mass intentions told me to be back for thanksgiving because she’s optimistic that my petition will surely be granted. I said, YES of course!
Thank you ate! I believe it will be granted.
Hmmm….we indulged ourselves with halo-halo (with extra milk for P8), fresh lumpia, buttered bread and fries at Razon’s for merienda before we proceed to Son of David’s Hotel.
We took a tricycle to bring us to the hotel. Hmp! The driver was asking for P30 fare because he said it’s a special trip, blah…blah…blah… It’s a good thing Grace asked someone from the hotel about the fare when she made the reservation. So, we paid only P20. Important reminder when you travel especially to first timers like us. Make sure you know the fare matrix so you won’t pay more than what you should pay. Son of David’s Hotel: The place is nice, so as the people and their services.
I took a lot of photos using Gracey’s Canon 40D while she’s taking a nap. I had to have an actual feel of it since I’m
planning to go for the 50D which is almost with the same weight or heavier. At 8:00pm, our dinner is served. We had tinola and of course we asked for an extra rice!
Then, we went back to our room to take a shower and watched “Dahil May Isang Ikaw”. We slept at about 11pm.
We set our alarm clock at 4:00am so we can attend the 5:00am mass before we go back to Manila. We had tapsilog for breakfast, and this time there were no extra rice, hehehe! Our 12-hour stay in the hotel is over. We went to church to hear mass. It’s really cold outside and I don’t have a jacket, right?!?! Many thanks to Gracey, she let me use her jacket.
We went directly to the bus station after the mass. Another 5 hours and we’re now back in the city. I took the MRT in North Ave. station going to the office while Gracey took the fx or bus going home. And that’s our Manaoag Adventure story.
To Gracey: I’m still waiting for you to upload the pictures!
